Summer Reading Camp

Before school begins in the fall, volunteers provide the children a weeklong day camp with games, science and fun reading & writing activities. At the end of the week the children are provided a backpack full of school supplies thanks to our generous community partners at the Glendora Distribution Center.

Does Shepherd’s Pantry provide toys for children at Christmas time?

Yes, we provide a Toy Store each year for children ages 0-14 years of age to pantry clients. Contact us for details.

Is financial assistance available?

On a case-by-case basis, the pantry provides financial assistance for the purposes of homeless prevention. Ask us for referrals to other organizations who might be able to assist you.

If two people live together in the same residence, can both apply for food?

No – Whether married or single, two people at the same residence are considered one family.

Are baby diapers and food available?

Yes, but based on supply so be sure to ask for specific needs.

Do you provide food delivery service?

Yes, but only in cases where it is impossible for clients to travel to our facility due to lack of transportation, disability, or health limitations. Delivery is provided locally within a 10 mile radius of the Glendora Distribution Center. To arrange for delivery call our distribution line (626) 852-7801.

Food distribution is now available from our Irwindale site thanks to our partnership with DoorDash. Deliveries from this location are done on Tuesdays and within 10 miles from this site. To arrange for a delivery call (626) 305-0392 and ask for Frances or Elisa.

Can special food type requests be made?

Yes – but fulfillment is based on availability.

What food is provided?

Food is provided for you and/or your family which includes canned and boxed food, produce, fresh fruits, dairy/deli, frozen meat and bakery items.

What is the cost for this service?

There is no monetary charge for any service we provide.

How often can you receive food?

You can receive food three (3) times a month from any Shepherd’s Pantry site and one site per week.

How can I receive clothing?

Clothing is provided for you and your family members at the Glendora Distribution Center. You are allowed to receive clothing once per month.

What are the qualifications for our service?

We provide services to anyone living in the Los Angeles County. On your first visit please bring proof of residence (like a phone bill, driver’s license…) and dentification for each household member living in your household.
