Last week, our Resource Counselor, Walter, was meeting with Lydia, a client. They were talking about reading the Bible. She stated that she was unable to read hers any longer because she couldn't see that well and the words were too small. She seemed very sad about it. Walter took off his non-prescription glasses (the ones you buy from CVS, etc.) and told her to try them. She put them on, looked at the print on the paper in front of her and shouted joyfully "I can see" and then she wept. Walter, of course told her to keep the glasses and she was profusely thankful. He was so excited when he told us and we marveled at how so many things we daily take for granted can mean so much to someone else who doesn't have access to those things.
