What are the qualifications for our service?

We provide services to anyone living in Los Angeles County. On your first visit, please bring proof of residence (like a phone bill, driver’s license, etc.) and identification for each household member (like a valid ID, medical card, school ID, etc.)

Privacy Policy: How is my information used?

Documents are used for verification purposes only. We do not keep copies of IDs or other verification documents.

All information shared is strictly confidential. We will not share your information with other persons/agencies without explicit consent. Information may be shared if clients disclose an intent to harm, or if child/elder abuse is suspected.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Shepherd’s Pantry uses SMS with Zoom to communicate with clients.

How often can you receive food?

Clients can receive food three (3) times a month in total from any Shepherd’s Pantry site.

Can special food type requests be made? What if I have an Allergy?

Yes, requests can be made, however fulfillment is based on availability. Shepherd Pantry locations are not guaranteed to be allergy free, but please let a volunteer know.

How can I receive clothing?

Clothing is provided for you and your family members at the Glendora Distribution Center once per your three (3) monthly visits.

What food is provided?

Food provided can include canned and boxed food, produce, fresh fruits, dairy/deli, frozen meat and bakery items. All food provided is based off donations and the Los Angeles Food Bank and cannot guarantee exact items each visit.

If two people live together in the same residence, can both apply for food?

Everyone who lives under one address is considered under one household. Whether you are single, married, a family, or friends, one household equals one account.

Is financial assistance available?

On a case-by-case basis, the pantry provides financial assistance for the purposes of homeless prevention. Ask us for referrals to other organizations who might be able to assist you.

Are baby diapers and food available?

Baby products, such as baby food, diapers, and clothing, are available to clients with verified infant(s) on their account. However, supply is based on donations, so please ask for specific needs or talk to our Case Management Team.

Do you provide food delivery service?

Yes, but only in cases where it is impossible for clients to travel to our facility due to lack of transportation, disability, or health limitations. Delivery is provided locally within a 10 mile radius of the Glendora Distribution Center. To arrange for delivery call our distribution line (626) 852-7801. Requests will be reviewed by our Case Management Team

Food distribution is now available from our Irwindale site thanks to our partnership with DoorDash. Delivery from this location are done on Tuesdays and within 10 miles from this site. To arrange for a delivery call (626) 305-0392.

What is the cost for this service?

There is no monetary charge for any service we provide. We are here to support you and your needs.

Does Shepherd’s Pantry provide toys for children at Christmas time?

In previous years, Shepherd Pantry has held Christmas Toy events. Current clients will receive details closer to December.

Is there Summer Reading Camp or Kids Tutoring?

Shepherd Pantry has suspended the Summer Reading Camp or tutoring for clients’ children. However, the Case Management Team still has resources available, so please get in touch with us for more information.
