Thirty percent of people in the United States take time out of their day to volunteer. Here at Shepherd’s Pantry, we are lucky to have over 5,000 volunteers who dedicate their time. Not every job is glamorous; lifting heavy boxes, sorting through less-than-fresh food donations, and driving around the county. Others are setting up for distribution, logging visits, and packing food into cars. Some volunteers will never meet a client. Some go home feeling like they interacted with one too many. No matter the case, we thank you! Thank you for all you do for your community. Thank you for giving over 20,000 hours this year alone. Shepherd’s Pantry brings hope and a helping hand because of you all. We appreciate you!
“To Our Outstanding Volunteers: Bottom line… We all want to improve the world, but it can be overwhelming to think of where to start. Well, you did it! Your time and effort are truly appreciated.
I wanted to especially thank the fantastic volunteers who bravely show up for us on Glendora’s Wednesday and Thursday ‘Distribution’ days and evenings. From helping to unload the food trucks… to sorting and organizing… to bagging food items… to boxing donations … to the office volunteers …to the runners and traffic monitors …to putting up signs and cones… to loading up the carts to distribute the donations to the hundreds of families in vehicles and the unhoused… and lastly to the ones who gladly return to break down boxes and pick up a broom so that we can get ready for the following day… Thank you!!!!!!!

Shepherd’s Pantry has so many awesome volunteers, and gratitude doesn’t even begin to describe our appreciation for each and every one of them. Our volunteers serve with pride and respect at three different sites, working together and supporting our clients with kindness. They contribute by picking up food from stores, sorting food and clothes, participating in our four nights of distributions, and handing out food to the homeless. We are also grateful for the wonderful hairdressers who volunteer their skills to provide haircuts for our clients. Each volunteer has their own unique reason for dedicating their time to Shepherd’s Pantry, and every staff member thanks you from the bottom of our hearts — we truly couldn’t do it without you!
