Since the beginning of the mandatory shelter in place orders, Shepherd’s Pantry has seen requests for food double and sometimes double. We continue to need your help!
The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a significant toll on us all. Many have lost jobs, resulting in financial loss and food insecurity. Shepherd’s Pantry is helping to shoulder the burden. But we can’t do it alone. We have the following service opportunities available at our Glendora and Irwindale locations:
Shepherd’s Pantry Truck Drivers: Monday – Saturday (Hours vary) – Irwindale Site
Pick up donated items from selected vendors in Shepherd’s Pantry delivery truck and deliver to one of our 3 locations. Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 40lb. A valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a completed driver history report is required.
Food Room Helpers: Tuesday – Thursday, 3:45pm – 7:00pm – Irwindale Site
Fill bagged food orders based on Food Vouchers given by the client. Take food in a shopping cart to the client’s car and unload it. Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
Food Sorters: Monday – Saturday (Hours vary)
Sort donated food and prepare parcels for distribution. Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Select a shift that works best with your schedule. Face masks and gloves are available to all volunteers and physical distancing is being enforced.
Please consider joining our tribe of volunteers and making an impact during this difficult time. For more information, contact our office at 626.852.7630 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
